Beard oil is a 3 in one grooming product. It’s hydrating to the skin, helps soften and tame beard hair, and is a light styling agent.

Our beard oil has been tested on lots of beards, and leaves them smelling great, and tamed!

What do you get? A 1 ounce bottle of beard oil in your choice of scent. If you'd like a custom scent or tailored more to your skin type (such as acne prone skin) and it's not listed, just contact me!

Current scents:

Ruk- Grab your axe and flannel- this scent will make you smell like you've just finished up cutting down your next log cabin- mixed with pines, cedars, and a hint of florals. Exclusive at Mother Creations.

Cedar Leather- Masculine and woodsy, with musk and tonka bean.

Tonka & Vetiver- Warm, with hints of lavender, coriander and citrus in a deep patchouli, cedar, & amber base.

What's in it and why?
All oils are chosen because they are non-comedogenic! (They don't clog pores). Some oils are changed through the seasons, but this list is what I typically use.

Organic Jojoba Oil- This oil absorbs quickly into the beard and skin. It's got natural vitamin E and is an amazing moisturizer!

Argan Oil- It's lightweight, another amazing moisturizer, and nourishes the beard.

Apricot Oil- High in fatty acids, and said to be good for acne.

Hempseed Oil- High in omega 6 fatty acids, it contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) which is an anti-inflammatory and encourages new skin growth and cell generation.

Organic Karanja Oil- Has astringent, anti-fungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties! It helps protect the skin. (It smells a little strong, but it's great for your skin!)

Grapeseed Oil- Adds moisture, strength, shine, and helps to de-frizz!

These oils are great because they absorb fast, aren't sticky (unless you use a lot) and typically don't attract dirt. Yes! Some oils attract dirt because they hang out longer on the hair follicle instead of absorbing in. (Side note- if you work in construction, man glitter areas, and so on, you're going to get dirt in your beard no matter what.)

*Thickening mix also has castor oil.

Why use beard oil?
To tame and soften up your crazy, but wonderful beard! Beard hair tends to be rougher than the hair on your head. It leads to a neater and more styled beard!

It may help keep the skin beneath the beard more moisturized and healthier. It may help reduce the occurrence of beard dandruff and itch.

It also leaves your beard smelling delicious!

It may help a scraggly beard look fuller and lusher. There is no proof that it helps hair growth! Some oils have anecdotal evidence of hair growth- such as castor oil and peppermint essential oil.

However, just keeping your skin and hair moisturized and healthy may show improvement in the condition and appearance of your skin and beard quite quickly.

Even acne-prone skin needs to be nourished! If you have acne prone skin, a beard oil with specific essential oils in it may be for you. Look for Thyme, tea tree, rosemary, cinnamon, oregano, lavender, bergamot, eucalyptus, lemongrass, and peppermint!

So, how do you use beard oil?
The best time is to use it when your pores are open- such as after showering or washing your face. This helps your skin absorb it efficiently.

Start SMALL- beard oil is typically strong stuff- you only need a few drops or you risk getting a greasy look instead of groomed. (5-7 for shorter beards is typically a good start).

Put a few drops of oil in your palms and massage it into your entire beard in a downward motion. Your beard should be damp, not drenched. Work it through your whole beard- you may need to use a comb if your beard is thick or long.
